Solo Brands is underpinned by the Solo Stove brand, which was founded in 2011 by two brothers seeking to bring family together in the outdoors. By combining their passion for e-commerce with their love of the outdoors, they created a digitally-native platform anchored by the revolutionary Solo Stove Lite (“Lite”), an ultralight and portable backpacking camp stove that does not require synthetic fuel and can boil water in under 10 minutes using just twigs, sticks, and leaves found outside. The Lite was our first disruptive DTC product offering, but its success has been outdone by Solo Stove’s iconic, stainless steel, virtually smokeless fire pits, that created a new product category that continues to bring together a loyal community of enthusiasts who power our brands and platform to this day.

In 2018, John Merris joined Solo Stove as its President and CEO. Under his direction over the last three years Solo Stove has grown exponentially. Solo Stove’s rapid growth is driven by, and allows for, significant investment into its e-commerce platform, new product launches, talented employees, targeted and more sophisticated marketing, and a strategic supply chain allowing for rapid design, development, launch, and delivery of products. Solo Stove’s infrastructure allows us to deliver exceptional customer experience which we believe is fundamental to delivering sustainable growth. In 2021, Solo Stove acquired additional lifestyle brands poised for growth, and, in doing so, created Solo Brands.

We also implement high quality data architecture to enable our brands to learn more about their customers’ needs in order to better serve them.
